How to: Rearrange structure of chart boxes.
Solution:
Select and drag chart boxes with the mouse to move them to new positions.
1) Select (single-click) the desired organization chart. (Handles appear around the border.)
Selected OrgChart
2) Select the 'Edit' menu and select 'Microsoft Organization Chart 1.0 Object'. (A submenu appears.)
3) Select 'Edit' from the 'Microsoft Organization Chart 1.0 Object' submenu. (The organization chart application window opens with the menus and toolbars active.)
Open OrgChart
4) Select the box to move by positioning the cursor over the desired box, pressing and holding down the mouse button.
NOTE: Do NOT release the mouse button.
5) Drag the box with the mouse button still down. (The cursor changes to a four-headed arrow.)
6) Position the box OVER a destination box. (The destination box changes.)
7) Do one of the following:
a) To move the box to a COWORKER position, drag the box to either the LEFT or the RIGHT side of the destination box. (The cursor changes to a left or right arrow.)
NOTE: The box must still be OVER the destination box; it just overlaps the destination box on the left or right, where the newly positioned coworker box is to appear.
b) To move the box to a SUBORDINATE position, drag the box to the BOTTOM of the destination box. (The cursor changes to a small subordinate chart box.)
NOTE: The box must still be OVER the destination box; it just overlaps the destination box at the bottom, where the newly positioned subordinate box is to appear.
8) Release the mouse button.
9) Repeat steps 4) through 9) for each additional chart box to move within the current organization chart.
NOTE: To move boxes in different organization charts, repeat steps 1) through 10) for each separate organization chart in which to move boxes.
